SUMMARY:Science in the Summer- Afternoon Class
DESCRIPTION:The Be a Chemist! program invites children to take the role of scientists and engineers as they investigate how chemistry creates the materials of everyday life. The activities encourage scientific practices like making observations and testing hypotheses while exploring the following questions:\n	What chemicals make up the materials in the world around us?\n	How are substances alike or different?\n	How do substances interact and change when they are mixed together?\nEach Be a Chemist! activity highlights a real-world career through a story that invites children to play the role of a person in that career.\nWe invite youth entering 2nd- 6th grad to join us this summer as we explore our world through hands-on experiments in chemistry! This year all ages will be able to attend whichever session works best for them. We will have morning (10:15 am- 11:15 am) and afternoon (11:30 am- 12:30 pm) sessions.\nParticipants should attend 4 of the 5 days if at all possible.\nScience in the Summer\, supported by GSK\, is a free hands-on science summer program for youth entering grades 2-6.\nQuestions?
