Featured AOB Artists of the Month: Lois and Marc Snyder

We’re excited to feature the work of Lois and Marc Snyder as the Artists of Bristol (AOB) Artists of the Month at the Margaret R. Grundy Memorial Library!

From July 6 through August 8, patrons are invited to explore a collection of Lois’s nature-inspired pastel artwork alongside Marc’s wildlife and expressionistic photography, handcrafted frames, and wood mosaics. Their exhibit celebrates the beauty of the natural world through a variety of artistic mediums and perspectives.

About the Artists

Lois discovered her love of art in a high school summer course but did not pursue it seriously until three years ago, when she enrolled in a township drawing class and quickly became hooked. Beginning with graphite and charcoal before exploring soft pastels, she has continued to study and practice independently. Her work draws inspiration from the beauty of nature, from peaceful waterfronts to open fields.

Marc’s artistic journey began in the late 1960s with film photography and darkroom work. He continues to explore the world through his camera, focusing primarily on wildlife and expressionistic photography. A woodworker for nearly 50 years, he has recently returned to the craft by creating handcrafted frames for his photographs and Lois’s artwork, as well as intricate wood mosaics.

Together, Lois and Marc exhibit their work at local art shows and in a gallery in Frenchtown. They also support the local arts community by chairing four annual art shows at Lower Bucks Hospital on behalf of the Artists of Bristol.

About the Artwork

This exhibit brings together Lois’s soft pastel landscapes and nature-inspired scenes with Marc’s wildlife and expressionistic photography, handcrafted woodwork, and wood mosaics. Their work invites viewers to pause and appreciate the landscapes, wildlife, and quiet moments that surround us every day.

The Grundy Library is proud to partner with the Artists of Bristol to showcase local talent and bring art into our community space.
