Finding Aids

Finding Aids

According to the Society of American Archivists, a finding aid “places archival resources in context by consolidating information about the collection, such as acquisition and processing; provenance, including administrative history or biographical note; scope of the collection, including size, subjects, media; organization and arrangement; and an inventory of the series and the folders. Finding aids could also describe a single level or a single item.”

The Library houses original, archival collections related to local Bristol history that are available by appointment only. Below, is a link to access finding aids of these collections within the Grundy Archive. A portion of our collections featured on this database are processed, while those without available (or incomplete) finding aids are unprocessed, meaning that the organization of these collections is still in-progress or in need of revision.
