Grundy Walking Club: Autumn

You’re invited to join the Grundy Walking Club! Participants meet at 1:00 pm on the second and fourth Tuesday for a stroll around historic Bristol Borough beginning in the library parking lot (Radcliffe & Dorrance Streets). Fall dates: September 13 & 27; October 11 & 25; and November 8 & 22. Remember to bring your water bottle and wear sunscreen and comfortable shoes.

Escorted by a staff member, Club members will enjoy the scenery of the nearby Delaware River, and the benefits of fresh air and exercise in good company. We’ll be striding the very streets walked by industrialist and U.S. Senator Joseph R. Grundy; Michael Dougherty, a U.S. Medal of Honor winner; and Averell Harriman, a ship manufacturer and WWII U.S. diplomat.

Founded by a charter issued to Samuel Clift in 1681, walkers will find in the Borough the Margaret R. Grundy Memorial Museum, a Victorian-era house museum and the former home of the late Senator Joseph Grundy and his sister Margaret Grundy; Mountain Laurel Spirits, LLC distillers of the award-winning whiskey Dad’s Hat Rye; the business winners of Deluxe Corporation’s Small Business Revolution on Main Street contest; Plymouth Yarn Co., distributors of globally sourced yarns; and the headquarters for Lenox China, a worldwide manufacturer of fine china.
