September is Library Card Sign-up Month
You’re invited to sign-up for a library card during the month of September. For 2022, the American Library Association (ALA) has chosen Tony Award-winning performer, actress, singer-songwriter, and philanthropist Idina Menzel and her sister author and educator Cara Mentzel as honorary chairs. They are co-authors of the new children’s picture book Loud Mouse available in late September. As honorary chairs, Idina and Cara remind everyone that one of the best places to find your voice is at the library. And during Library Card Sign-up Month, they encourage card holders to explore all the library has to offer, like new children’s books, access to technology, and educational programming.
Persons and families interested in obtaining a Grundy Library Card can apply in-person at the Grundy Library via curbside (Monday – Wednesday 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM; Thursday – Saturday 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM), inside at the service desk on Saturdays (11:00 AM – 4:00 PM), or begin the process via an online application. Individuals 16 years of age or older who apply for a Grundy Library card in September and pick it up by Friday, October 7th are automatically entered into a drawing for one of four $25.00 gift card prizes. The drawing is scheduled for Monday, October 10, 2022 and winners will be contacted via phone or email. Individuals need not be present to win a prize.
