Staff Picks of 2022: Picture Books

As 2022 comes to an end, the staff of Grundy Library wanted to share some of their favorite picture books with our community! See below for a list of great reads that can all be checked out at the library!  

Mouse, I Will Read to You

This story follows a momma mouse as she helps her little mouse become a reader. It’s super sweet and a great read aloud!

Song in the City

This story follows a young girl and her grandmother as they experience the vibrant everyday music of their busy city. The young girl in this story uses her ears as she cannot use her eyes and this inspires her to share the music of the city she hears with her grandmother. 

Mirette on the High Wire
by Emily Arnold McCully

This story follows Mirette as she learns to walk a tightrope between her mother’s boarding house and another building. Along the way she befriends her teacher and teaches him to find courage again. Another sweet story about finding courage from unexpected places and people.

Truck Full of Ducks

This story follows Bernie as he tries to make a delivery – a “truck full of ducks!” However, along the way, Bernie encounters some silly mishaps from his duck “packages.” Filled with bright illustrations and humor, this is sure to be a laugh-out-loud read!
